Abram Joseph Chayes (1922-2000) was admitted to the Bar of Connecticut in 1950, in the District of Columbia in 1953, and in Massachusetts in 1958. He was a legal adviser to the governor of Connecticut from 1949 to 1950, and general counsel for U.S. President's Materials Policy Commission from 1950 to 1951.
